CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 11, 2023) — Mid-Atlantic Emergency Medical Associates (MEMA) is proud to partner with Novant Health and other Novant Physician practices in sponsoring the Queen’s Cup. The Queen’s cup is a spectacular Spring Event in Charlotte that benefits the Alzheimer’s Association and we are honored to be part of this great Charlotte tradition.
The region’s famous steeplechase event is hosted every year by the Charlotte Steeplechase Foundation, Inc., a 501c nonprofit organization that fundraises to support local and regional charities.
Since its inception in 1996, the Queen’s Cup has brought in over $1,000,000 to the community. Held on the last Saturday in April in the scenic Piedmont countryside, the race is an exciting equestrian outdoor sporting and social event that offers an opportunity to give back. Steeplechase, or “jump racing,” is a distance horse race over an obstacle course and one of the oldest spectator sports in the world. Thanks in part to its sponsors, this year’s event attracted a sellout crowd for the first time in its history.
