(CHARLOTTE, NC) – Parker Hays, Jr. MD FACEP has taken the lead for the last five years to provide first-hand access to emergency medicine for Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine medical students (Year 4). As Director of Medical Student Education at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center for Mid-Atlantic Emergency Medical Associates (MEMA), Dr. Hays is continuing his leadership with Campbell’s Region 3 campus with a renewed partnership through MEMA.
The program allows up to 3 medical students to rotate through the department each month who have an interest in emergency medicine and critical care. Dr. Hays’ team works with more than 25 students a year at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center Emergency Department team as these students see patient cases and work with attending physicians throughout their shifts.
“I feel strongly about medical education,” says Dr. Hays. “Working with MEMA to continue this partnership with Campbell is vital to the efforts of educating our future medical physicians and offering them an opportunity to highlight emergency medicine.”
