Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center’s Emergency Department is undergoing an exciting expansion. The project will double the department’s size by adding 19 new rooms, including 13 treatment rooms, two trauma rooms, and four rooms specifically for behavioral health care. Additionally, the project will expand the radiology department, add space for administrative offices, and enlarge the waiting room lounge.

“Since opening in October of 2018, Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center Emergency Department has cared for thousands of patients in the community,” says Dr. Sankalp Puri, Vice Chief of Staff and Medical Director at Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center’s Emergency Department. “MEMA has the privilege of partnering with Novant Health to be the medical providers for the Emergency Department. The physical footprint of the Emergency Department needed to expand in order to care for the rapid increase in patient volumes. Novant Health and MEMA are committed to providing the most remarkable care for the patients of the Mint Hill community.”

The project is expected to reach completion in the summer of 2025. Mid-Atlantic Emergency Medical Associates looks forward to this expansion as a means to meet the region’s growing healthcare needs.
