Please let us know which program you selected for your Physician Assistant studies. Why did this program make the top of your list?
I attended Wingate University’s Physician Assistant program. The school’s location, being close to home, and the program director, whose communication was impressive, are both why Wingate was at the top of my list.
Tell us more about how you came to choose the field of medicine. What about becoming a PA was attractive?
Medicine has always been in my heart. After a career in corporate America, an opportunity arose for me to pursue this passion, and I began studying medicine. I love the opportunity to care for patients every day.
How did you choose Emergency Medicine as your specialty?
Emergency Medicine allows for connecting with patients on the front line, during some of the most difficult and chaotic times of a patient’s life. This is a new journey for me, and I appreciate what this specialty offers.
What do you enjoy most about your day-to-day practice?
I enjoy hearing patient’s stories about what makes them who they are and helping ease their concerns. Connecting with patients and sharing their stories continues to be what I enjoy most about practicing medicine.
What led you to practice with MEMA?
MEMA’s reputation is top-notch, and seeing this firsthand with the professionalism of their staff and how they care for patients, as well as encouraging a positive work culture.
What about Charlotte excites you?
I am a Charlottee native, so this is home for me. It’s fantastic being able to stay close to friends and family.
Do you have any Hobbies, interests, or secret powers that are unique to you?
In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering in the community, including with animal rescue services. Otherwise, you can find me catching up on the latest novel with a cup of coffee.
