Just north of Charlotte, Huntersville is a fast growing Lake Norman community. Huntersville was established as a municipality in 1885 and was named for one of its founding fathers. Farmers grew cotton on their large plantations and prominent schools attracted families from near and far. In later years, textile mills brought more jobs and residents to the area. There are numerous historic home sites intact and open to the public in Huntersville. These sites serve as a living legacy and link the between the present and past. The allure of the remaining farmland, the simple commute into the city of Charlotte and the proximity to Lake Norman are just some of Huntersville's enticements.
