The flagship hospital for Presbyterian Healthcare is Presbyterian Hospital. Located in Uptown Charlotte, the 581-bed facility has served the area for more than 100 years. Presbyterian houses the Center for Women's Health, which includes the most active family maternity center in Charlotte; the 72-bed Hemby Children's Hospital; the Belk Heart Center and the Charlotte region's most comprehensive cancer center. The center for surgery performs more surgeries in North Carolina than any other hospital specializing in same-day service. There is 24/7 in house Radiology back-up with CT, Ultrasound, and Angiography always available. Cardiology is truly world class with Board Certified Cardiologists in house 24/7, and all acute MIs are treated with intervention in the Cath Lab. Full sub-specialty back-up is available including CT surgery, neurosurgery, PICU and NICU. Presbyterian also offers a very active Hyperbaric Medicine/Wound Care program and the area’s first dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department staffed by Board Certified Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians. The pediatric inpatient team provides coverage 24/7 via the PICU physicians and there is also an adult inpatient team providing coverage 24/7 for medical admits.
