	History Founded in 1976, Mid-Atlantic Emergency Associates, MEMA, is a physician owned practice providing emergency and acute medical care throughout greater Charlotte and the Piedmont area of North Carolina.

	Board of Directors MEMA employs a democratic system of operation. Shareholder physicians are elected biannually to the positions of: President & CEO, Vice President, and Board of Directors.
	Medical Directors There is a full-time Medical Director at each facility and an Assistant Medical Director at several facilities.
